Ballymac 1-08
Finuge/St. Senans 0-06 We played our 2nd County League game on Wed night, again in glorious sunshine . Though missing some regulars and fielding quite a few U12s we came through by 5 pts following a brilliant last 20mins .
Finuge St Senans opened the scoring after 4 mins and we responded with a good score from play by Caoimhe Carroll . Finuge St Senans then took control for the next 15 mins reeling off 2 more scores and we were thankful to Robin in goals in this period as she made some good saves and was very assured in her handling . We got a score back via Lisa Curran following a good run by Therese Keane . A couple of positional switches namely Asling going to centre back and Niamh going to centre forward gave some momentum and we had 3 good goal scoring chances that went a begging . Finuge St Senans scored another point and Cora Savage got a good score from play to leave the half time score 4 pts to 3 pts in favour of the opposition .
The 2nd half saw us start a lot better , with Caoimhe , Therese , Niamh , Ashling and Eve come more and more into the game which assured us more possession . Emily O Donaghue kicked a point from play to level it , Finuge St Senans responded after a few minutes with a score of their own to give them a lead again . Though Finuge St Senans had a couple of goal chance after this the Ballymac girls showed real grit and determination from here on and dominated the last 20mins . Maeve , Sinead and Sophie were dominant in the full back line , Catriona , Ashling and Eve started to come forward more and Caoimhe and Therese drove forward too . Niamh, Lisa & Cora won a few kickouts and we worked scores from these , Emily kicking 2 more from play , Cora and Ashling chipping in with one each saw us lead by 0-08 to 0-05 . Finuge St Senans got one back from a free shortly after this , a Ballymac attack instigated by Eve Creedon , Ashling and Lisa Curran saw Ellie Mc Elligott get possession about 25 yards from goal and she sent a screamer to the net to seal the win .
A great display by everyone on the field on the night , all the girls showed great spirit and teamwork to dig out the win . Special thanks to Elle Lenihan and Cathy Palmer who lined out for the first time with us , without them we would not have had a team on the night . Catriona Sommers hurt her finger late on in the game so we send her best wishes that she’ll be back very shortly

Ballymac 7-09
Beale/Ballyduff 0-09
The girls welcomed Beale/Ballyduff to Ballymac on Saturday afternoon to decide the outcome of the league, as a victory over the north kerry girls, would leave us as champions of the division, even with a game in hand.Putting out nearly our strongest team we showed our natural football ability throughout the field to comprehensively defeat our nearest rivals in the division. With three goals in the first half from Catherina Sommers ,Yvonne Hurley and a wonderful team goal which saw Kate O Connor,Catherina Sommers,Cora Savage combine to send Emily O Donoghue through to drive an unstoppable shot to the back of the net.Cora chipped in with two points in the first half along with one from Catherina. The halftime score was 3-3 to 3pts. We started the secondhalf in the same fashion with all players working hard for one another, with Ciara Palmer excelling in the full back line, and our half back line of Aylssa Leen ,the outstanding Sinead McKeown and Cathy Palmer repelling the visitors at every oppurtunity.Four goals were added in the secondhalf from Cora,Catherina and Aoife Galvin and Eimear Curran. The score of the half was a point from the boot of our centre back Sinead after a great run forward. Points from Cora ,Emily and Jade Riordan finished the scoring to leave the final score 7-9 to 0-9. Captain Cora Savage accepted the trophy on behalf of the team and to the delight of their coaches and families. The team now switch their attention to the county league with great optimism.
