Ballymac’s blue team Division one NKL v Chorcha Dhuibne
On Friday evening we travelled to Lispole to play our second group game v Chorcha Dhuibne.
An early blow to Ballymac’s was the loss of on form centre back Sinead McKeown three minutes into the game, With Roisin Long our full back missing due to injury the odds were against us from the off. A stiff breeze in the first half made life very difficult and Chorcha Dhuibne made hay scoring 4:10 to a single point from Ballymac. We lost wing back Cathy Palmer to a stomach bug at half time. Disappointed with their lack of scores in the first half the girls soon got to grips with the match but in the end the gap was too far to bridge. Ballymac’s notched up 1:09 in the second half and acquitted themselves fairly well given all the things they had to deal with, on another day the game could have been a whole lot closer. Scorers for Ballymac Cora Savage 0:3, Lisa Curran 0:03, Mary Ann Fleming 0:01, Ellie McElligott 1:0, Emily O’Donoghue 0:03.

Ballymac u14 Ladies Gold Team Division 3 North Kerry League.
Our u14 Gold team had their first match on Monday evening . Opponents were Churchill who are relative newcomers to the ladies ranks. Ballymac played a panel of 90% U13’s which was a welcome boost to those girls who hadn’t seen too much game time up until now due to the large u14 panel overall. The match was over as a contest by half time. Ballymac took the opportunity to swap around the team and play players out of customary positions. To their credit Churchill had a panel of players who played right to the end.
Final score was Ballymac’s 3:12 Churchill 0:06
Scorers: Ellie Sugrue 2:01, Holly Geary 1:01, Maryanne Fleming 0:02,Kate O’Connor 0:02, Emily o’Donoghue 0:04, Jade Riordan 0:01, Sinead McKeown 0:01.
On Sunday 4th we travelled to Kerins O Rahilly’s for our second game. Playing the Kerins O Rahillys A Team was always going to be a tough ask for our young girls.
With the breeze in their favour Kerins O’Rahilly’s got off to a good start and had a commanding lead at half time.
In the second half the Ballymac girls came out of their shells a bit more and threw caution to the wind.
Although winning the game was always going to be a bridge too far, Ballymac, to their credit won a lot of loose 50/50 ball, Ballymac’s first score arrived from Kate O’Connor when she pounced for a goal in the 40th minute. Emily O’Donoghue converted a spot kick shortly after Kate O’Connor being brought down when she was through for a certain goal. In Goals Grainne Galvin gave the performance of the game thwarting the Kerins O’Rahilly attack time after time. Praise goes out to all of the girls who gave their all right to the end.
Final score Kerins O’Rahillys 4:9 Ballymac 2:04

Our U 10 girls team travelled to Abbeydorney where we had 2 excellent games against the local team. Despite the inclement weather conditions the standard of football by both sides was very high.
