Feile Peil na nÓg Launch in Brosna GAA club grounds Monday 9th May @ 6.45pm.
As you may already know, Féile has grown from strength to strength over the recent past.
This year there will be 250 clubs participating in Feile. This is made up of 125 host clubs along with 125 visiting clubs.
This is further broken down as 80 host boys clubs & 45 host girls clubs, mainly from Ireland but also 12 clubs from America, the UK and one from France for the first time ever. So as you can see this is why it is Europe’s single biggest youth sporting event in 2016 with in excess of 6000 youths participating.
· The event itself is taking place on 24th , 25th , 26th June.
· The hosting regions include Kerry, West Limerick, North Cork & Cork city.
· There will be in excess of 630 games all around the South West region during these days.
· This event will bring approx 60 / 70 thousand people to the area to watch these games.
· The Feile begins on the Friday evening, June 24th with each team playing two games on the Friday evening.
· Games will begin again on Saturday morning at 10.30am with each club playing their visiting club in their home ground
· Quarter finals will begin at 2pm on Saturday mainly in neutral venues.
· Semi- finals will take place on Sunday morning and finals will take place on Sunday afternoon.
· There will be nine parades held throughout the south west region on the Saturday evening at 7pm. These venues include: Killarney, Tralee, Cahersiveen, Dingle, Kenmare, Listowel, Newcastlewest, Kanturk and Carrigaline. Neighbouring clubs are encouraged to join these parades and participate along with their U-6,8 and 10 footballers in full club colours to make what is hoped a very enjoyable and memorable evening.
· The launch of the John West sponsored Feile Peil na nÓg South West, will be hosted by Knocknagoshel/Brosna GAA clubs in Brosna GAA club grounds on Monday next, May 9th at 6.45pm.
