Congratulations to the players and management of our Senior Team on their fantastic victory over Templemore in Templemore yesterday. This was the final game in the County League League itself for 2021. This result meant Ballymac have also gained the automatic promotion spot to Division 1, as we had already seen off Gneeveguilla in the previous round, so they top the table on the head-to-head rule.
To play in Division 1 for the first time in 20 years is a massive achievement both on and off the pitch. What the players on the panel and our management team Ruriri Rahilly, Tom O’Shea, Dennis O’Connor, and Frank Rahilly have done for our Club and wider Community cannot be measured. It is a real good news story for everyone.
We in Ballymacelligott GAA are extremely proud of the achievements of this great group of players. We also thank Mike Sweeney and Fionnán Fitzgerald, Chairman and Secretary of our club for all the unseen administrative work behind the scenes. This past year and a half have been very challenging and they have led by example.
This afternoon our U17 Boys secured the Division 2 title in the Central League Final when they overcame Milltown/Castlemaine. This is another great achievement for our club and we thank coaches Eddie O’Connell. John Rice and Chris Flannery for all the work they put in all year. Our Coiste na nÓg officers Declan O’Connell and Ger Collins and our coaching Officers Stephen O’Brien have worked hard all year with our underage players. They and our brilliant team of coaches have complimented the work at the senior level. We thank them all sincerely.
We also thank you, our lotto supporters for all your support over the past twenty years. You have supported our lotto through good times and bad. That undying support has helped run our club and we are very grateful to you all.
Tonight’s Jackpot was €10,200 and the draw was made by Tom Leen our Club President and Maureen O’Shea PRO with Tony Silles on camera. The numbers drawn were 19, 5, 14, and 28. There was no winner of the jackpot. The lucky dip winners were: €30.00 Brian Mulvihill, €20.00 Adam Sheehy and 3 winners of 3 for a €5 quick pick for next week’s draw were: Marie McCarthy, Daniel O’Shea and Desmond Savage.
