Senior Ladies
Donal Curtin Round 4 Monday 22nd May 2023
Ballymac 1-09 Legion 1-07
A really hard-fought encounter in Killarney where strong defending and robust tackling was very much to the fore. In a game where scores were at a premium we started well and had a goal from Jill Quirke and a pointed free from Roisin Rahilly. Legion fought back and scored 1-02. A Roisin point from play left the half time score 1-02 apiece. Management made some positional switches at the break which helped the team balance for the second half.
We again started the second half well and two Ella Quirke points followed by one from Eve Creedon. However, credit to fought back with two of their own. It was nip and tuck from there on with our defence playing really well when asked the hard questions. Kerry also had a super save to keep us ahead. Heroic defence from Niamh Rahilly, Anna Collins, Ciara Kerins and Rachel Griffin kept us ahead. An amazing energetic performance from Keelin Enright from midfield where she covered every blade of grass took a lot of pressure off our defence also. We finished the game well with points from Ella, Lisa Curran, Roisin and Jill left the score 1-09 to 1-07 at the final whistle.
Overall, a hard-fought victory on a night when we were missing a number of players. Massive credit to the 16 who togged out and especially Kate O Connor who was under the weather but came to ensure we had an option from the bench.

Senior Ladies
Donal Curtin Cup Round 3
Ballymac 3-15 Castleisland Desmonds 0-10
On a glorious evening in Ballymac our senior ladies had a very good win against our near neighbours Castleisland Desmonds.
The girls were at it from the off and raced into an early 1-05 to 1pt lead. The football being played was of a very high quality and our handling and decision making matched that. The defence and midfield were winning the majority of the battles and the forward unit was also moving very well.
HT score 2-10 to 0-08.
Desmonds came out fighting after the break but our girls were ready for them and in a frantic opening 15 mins neither team scored.
From there on Ballymac took over and tagged on some great scores.
All round a super win and one that kick starts our season in which there are many tough battles ahead.
