Coaching Seminar
The Club hosted a coaching seminar on Sunday last in Ballygarry House Hotel. The main speaker at this event was former Kerry and Limerick inter Co. Manager Mickey Ned O Sullivan who gave all present an insight on how to bring the Club forward from a coaching perspective. The large crowd present certainly learned a lot from his presentation. Many thanks to Mickey for making the journey from Kenmare on such a bad day.
SENIORS
Our Senior Team travelled to a wet and windy Churchill on Sunday last for Round 2 of the St. Brendans Board League. Having played against the strong wind in the 1st half our lads were happy going in at the break with a 1 point deficit. Churchill 1 – 7 Ballymac 2 – 3. Ballymac goal scorers being Eanna Reidy and Vincent Horan. In the second half Ballymac added 4 points to their tally while keeping the opposition scoreless to run out winners on a final score of Ballymac 2 – 7 Churchill 1 – 7. Next Saturday at 3.45 we welcome Kerins O Rahillys to Ballymac for a Round 1 Coiste Tra Li game. Please check facebook and twitter for any further updates on these fixtures.
MINORS
KERINS O RAHILLYS 4-10 BALLYMAC 3-6
Our second game in the Tralee district league was against O’Rahilly’s in Ballyrickard last Sunday morning. Heavy underfoot conditions and driving rain made it impossible to play good football. A heroic performance by our captain Max O’ Brien and a masterclass by our stand in goalie Cathal Dunne were the main positives for us in this game. It was backs to the wall stuff for us in the first 15 minutes as we found it very hard to get out of our own half. O,Rahilly’s had notched up 1-5 before Dara Keane pointed for us. David Long grabbed the kick out passed to D. Keane who again pointed. Cathal Dunne made two fine saves but our opponents scored another goal just before half time. The score at half time was Kerins O’Rahilly’s 2-5 Ballymac 0-2.
We had a better start to the second half with Keelan kicking two points. Max O Brien then got on the scoresheet with a fine goal and Keelan pointed from a free. However two quick goals by our opponents again stretched their lead. As the half went on Cathal made several fine saves, but O’Rahilly’s kicked two further points. Keelan pointed for us before ML. Hoare picked out D. Reagan with a perfect pass who in turn found Dara Chawke and he scored a goal from close range. Keelan again pointed while O’Rahilly’s added two more points. D. Reagan responded by working his way through for a fine goal with our opponents getting the final point of the game. We play Austin Stacks next in this competition.

SCÓR SINSEAR
Ballymac sent three teams to the Co. Final of Scor Sinsear in Castleisland on Saturday evening last. Our Leiriu were most unlucky not to be crowned Co. Champions as they put in a faultless performance of their sketch which detailed events surrounding the War of Independence and Civil War. However, the judges decided that Fossas piece on the 1916 rising would go forward to represent the County in Munster. Our Set Dancers relinquished their County title when they were pipped by an excellent Spa set. Thanks to Michael Murphy for the time and effort he dedicated to our set dancers. Tom Herlihy, Niall Daly, Denis Daly, and Gerard Collins participated in the Quiz section but once again it was All Ireland champions Churchill who took the honours in this category following a play off victory over Rathmore.
Many thanks to all who participated in Scor Sinsear on behalf of the Club. A special buiochas goes to our Scor Officer Anthony Curran and his wife Nora for the tireless work they did in the coordinating of the Scor team. Tiocfaidh ár Lá.

ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to Templenoe and St. Mary’s who won their respective All Ireland championships in Croke Park on Sunday last, to continue Kerry’s dominance of these competitions.
Congratulations also to our neighbours John Mitchels on their recent promotion to Division 1 of the Co. League for 2016.
