LEE STRAND: U-12 COUNTY FOOTBALL LEAGUES
Notes for Teams & Referees
Five Goal Rule: any goals scored after the 5th goal count as a point
Games will be 25 minutes a half. The player that is fouled must take the free kick and for a side line the player nearest where the ball goes out must take the kick.
It is recommended that all players get to play for a minimum of 25 minutes in each game. The number of substitutions is unlimited.
Play is restricted to 1-hop and 1-solo for all U-12 games. All kick outs from the hand, from within the small square. The dimensions of the small square are 1.2m from posts and 3m from the end line. All “45”’s are to be taken off the ground from 36 metres. No Foot dribble i.e. no more that two foot-touches along the
ground). Size 4 footballs to be used.
For all U-12 County League games, the “Mark” will not apply because the Kick-Out is allowed to be taken off the hand. The rule governing square ball will apply but there are NO PENALTIES.
Teams will be a max of 11 a side. B teams may play 9 a side or 10 a side.
Any Clubs with two teams in a competition must submit their first-11 (plus second-11 for three teams) at least two days before the second-round games.
The dimensions of the playing field will be 90 metres long approx.and 45 metres wide approx.
If a team has an issue about the eligibility of an opposing player, the Mentor should ask the Referee to (a) take the player’s name (b) get the players signature and date of birth.
If the home pitch is unplayable the onus is on the Home-Team to find an alternative Pitch that is playable, even if this is the opponent’s Pitch.
Clubs are obliged to find an alternative Referee if their own Club Referee is not available to do any game allocated to them.
FAIR PLAY RECOMMENDATIONS:
All players in their final year (12yrs) to play for at least half the game.
Players that are two years younger than the Age-Limit not to be allowed play, if there are any players older than them on the sideline. (This means that U-10 players could not play with the U-12 Team if any 11yr olds or 12yr olds are on the sideline).
Please do not phone the Co-ordinator or Coiste Na nÓg Officers to find a Referee.
Any Team wishing to change a fixture must go through the following six steps
1. Seek permission from the Co-ordinator
2. Agree change with opposition team
3. Agree new date with opposition team
4. Notify the Co-ordinator, Secretary (Mags Evans) and the PRO
5. Notify the Referee
6. Re-arrange appointment of Referee for new fixture
In U-12 County League, all games to be played by the final round in both Phases 1 & 2 unless agreed by
the C.C.C.. U-12 teams must fulfil all fixtures to qualify for medals.
