County League 2020 : Tuesday 18th August
Ballymac 1-08 Beale 4-04
Ballymac U12 girls hosted Beale this evening Tuesday August 18th on a pleasant sunny evening.
Once again the Ballymac girls started strong and confident, showing improvement in their game in all areas of the field.Holding strong in defense and attacking game until halftime with leading score 1-4 to 1-2.
But in the third quarter our girls became rattled with 3 goals from Beale in quick succession as we failed to clear the ball out.
Despite improvement in our game with a change of tactics in midfield in the final quarter we failed to regain dominance on the scoreboard with the whistle blowing up Beale 4-4 Ballymacelligott 1-8
Michelle O Connor had her speedy skillful scoring boots on tonight, scoring all Ballymac’s scores bar 1 point which Sarah O’Rourke tucked over accurately from a free. This is a player to watch for the future for sure.
Hazel Geary was also impressive, showing skill and strength in gaining ground with the ball and powerful clearing kicks from defense.
Special mention to our 3 academy U10 girls who joined us, Alice Savage, Kate O’Neill and Aoibhinn Sheehan (sister to our goalie Olivia). The girls impressed and it was a great benefit to having them on our squad.
We are looking forward to reviewing team tactics and continuing our ball skills as we train for our next match. Well done all.
