The U12 girls panel began their season in February with a few weeks of indoor training at St. Brendan’s Hall. On those cold winter mornings nobody could predict what a successful year lay ahead for this bunch of girls.Their first two games of the year were in the North Kerry League and resulted in wins over Beale and Ballyduff. Following that the team played in preliminary games to determine what county league division they would play in. They were put into division 3 with teams of the calibre of Desmonds, Stacks, Dr. Crokes, Duagh and Finuge/St. Senans. This was a very tough division but the girls rose to the challenge in fantastic fashion and only lost one game (Austin Stacks) in the league phase. This resulted in a semi final again versus Stacks but this time the girls reversed the result with a fantastic 0-15 to 1-05 win. This set up a county final with Castleisland Desmonds in Castleisland. What an epic game this was and following a ding dong battle Ballymac came through as winners on a 3-07 to 1-11 scoreline.
This panel of girls have put themselves into the history books as the first ever County League Champions at ladies football in the club!!
They followed this up by winning the North Kerry League division 3 title. The girls record for the 2014 season is as follows: Played: 13 Wins: 11 Draws: 1 Lost: 1
