BLUE TEAM REPORT
Ballymac 5 16 Cordal 3 10
A performance that was well overdue was produced in Cordal in our second round game of Castleisland District. Ballymac were fastest out of block with captain on the night Sam Slattery leading by example kicking 5 exceptional points in the first six minutes to settle Ballymac giving the boys a platform to express themselves with the football we know they can play.
First 15 minutes was all Ballymac but credit to an impressive Cordal team they out played Ballymac in the final 10 minutes to leave plenty to do for Ballymac in the second half.

A must win game for Ballymac to remain in contention for the A final was the driving factor in their second half performance where the boys continued their good form defending admirably and exceptionally clinical with every attack to ensure the must needed victory went to Ballymac.
Best wishes to Stephen Turner who picked up an injury during the game.

GOLD TEAM REPORT
Ballymac 5-13 Cordal 3-8
Another solid performance by our Gold Team who travelled to Cordal on Friday August 30th to play in the second round of the Castleisland District Competition.
Cordal went ahead by 2 points at the start of the game . Points by Gearoid Healy and Michael Quirke levelled the game for us. Some great fielding at midfield by Eoghan Joy and Padraig Reidy helped us gain control of the game and we led by 3-6 to 0-5 at half time.

Both teams played some lovely football in the second half with great fielding and support play on display.
Our defence was solid throughout with John Leen making some fine saves.
Our forwards were in fine scoring form as always. These boys continue to impress and it’s great to see them encouraging each other and working so well together.
