Congratulations to our senior Development Team who defeated John Mitchell’s on Friday 17th October to capture the Tralee / St Brendan’s shield on a scoreline of 0 13 points to 1 05 .
Ballymac got off to a great start with a two pointer from James Kenny and a further point from Andy Rogers which put us ahead by 3 points after 10 minutes. Mitchell’s replied with a point of their own minutes later having missed several chances earlier against the wind .
Cathal white , Adam Sheehy and Michael Herlihy added further points to put Ballymac ahead by 0 06 – 0 01 . A two pointer from a free by John Mitchell’s closed the gap to 3 points , Ballymac leading 0 06 0 03 at Halftime.
Ballymac pushed further ahead after the interval with a superb two pointer by midfielder Skye lynch .
A goal by John Mitchell’s closed the gap to two points but a great reply again by Skye lynch with another superb two pointer put us ahead by 4. Our defence and midfield were really impressive at this stage and a further point from James Kenny following a breach by John Mitchell’s pushed us 5 points clear .
Both Teams exchanged points but our boys were well up for this game and were not going to be denied victory, running out victorious on a scoreline of 0 13 – 1 05 .
There was great scenes of joy at the final whistle when Shane mc Gillicuddy accepted the shield on behalf of the victorious Team.
