Our Minor team played Dr Crokes GAA in the third and final round of the County League Div 1B competition on an overcast evening in Lewis Road pitch on Monday Evening, July 21st.

In the opening period, both teams went at it in a high-quality exchange. It was the home side who were in the ascendancy in the first 20 minutes however our lads composed themselves bringing ourselves back into the encounter with some well taken scores. Against the breeze, the visitors went in at half time with a one point advantage. Ballymac 0-9 Dr Crokes 0-8

Immediately upon the second half throw in, Ballymac won possession and ran at the home side at pace with Matthew Rodgers, introduced at half time, with a beautifully taken finish to the back of the net to give the us the advantage. The definition of the immediate impact of an impact sub! Crokes continued to push us to the limit as the half progressed but we had an answer for them on most occasions keeping the clean sheet where our keeper Cian Harris and his defensive line deserving the credit. It was the Rodgers goal that proved the difference in the finish with a fine victory on the road.

This victory means we have a big game in the coming days with a *home semi final now guaranteed*
