Kerry Petroleum Junior Premier Football Club Championship Semi-Final
Ballymac 3-11
Listry 0-18
Ballymac senior team booked a place in the Junior Club championship final with a well fought semi final victory over Listry in Castleisland on Sunday last.
Both teams were slow to get going initially. Listry playing against the breeze dominated the early first half. Ballymac kept abreast of the play and a 2 pointer by Darragh Broderick and a well taken penalty by Jack Joy just before halftime saw us enter the half time changing room 3 points ahead.
We lost our captain Daire Keane to injury at the end of the first half but substitute Mairtin McGivern played a pivotal role at the centre of the field. The first quarter of the second half saw Ballymac dominate with goals from Darragh Broderick and Adam Sheehy and a further 2 pointer from Darragh Broderick saw us establish a 13 point lead. Listry fought back magnificently with a flurry of points including 3 two pointers and closed our lead to 2 points in the final quarter.
Ballymac parried well in the closing stages and won on a score line of 3-11 to 0-18
Our final against St Senans will take place in Austin Stack Park at 17.30 Saturday 13 September.
