U13 Boys
U13 Blue Team vs Churchill
Our Blue Team were at home to Churchill this Sunday 5th June 2023 in Div 5 County League Semi-final.
These two teams had played twice already this year and both games were right affairs. On a hot night for football our boys started well and were linking passes together and causing a lot of problems for Churchill. A good mix of scorers saw us take a decent lead to half time.
We knew Churchill would not lay down and to their credit they took the game to us early in the second half. A second goal put us in a commanding position with 10 mins to go.
Final scoreline Ballymac 2-14 Churchill 1-09 Thanks to Churchill for a sporting contest.
Boys progress to County Final vs Fossa next week. Venue and Time to be confirmed.

Div 5B County League Round 3
Ballyduff 0-8 V Ballymacelligott Blue 1-09
Venue : Ballyduff
Date: Sunday 28th May 23
Ballymac u13 Blue Team played away to Ballyduff in our 3rd Game of Phase 2 of the County League.
Having won our two previous games, another win would ensure we topped Div 5B and qualified for County Semi-final.
In the first half we played into a strong breeze as well as up an incline. While we dominated possession, we found it hard to get good ball into our full forwards and Ballyduff were defending their goals well. Ballyduff were linking play well and kicked some nice points from play. A great save from Flynn Boyle kept us in the game as Ballyduff were picking off points from frees and play.
Strong performances from Daniel, Harvey and Gearoid Joy amongst others kept the halftime score to 8 pts to 2 pts in Ballyduff’s favour.
From the throw we picked up the intensity well in the second half. We won most of Ballyduff’s kickouts and starting eating into their lead. Points from Adrian, Harvey, Jack and Aidan had us right back in contention. Another point blank save by Flynn meant the home team only registered one point in the second half as we had the lion’s share of possession. Eric and Patrick were working tirelessly and linking play well.
The key score came with about 5 mins to go when Darragh followed up on a shot by Harvey and buried it to the back of the net. The insurance point came from Jack Hobbart and at the final whistle we had dug out a good result.
Final scoreline 1-8 to 9 pts
The boys now await their opponents in league semi-final
U13 Boys
Ballymac V Beaufort
Venue: Ballymac Date 21st May 2023
Ballymac u13 Blue Team played at home to Beaufort in 2nd Game in Div 5 this Sunday.
We got off to the perfect start with Harvey winning the throw in and after bursting through the middle he fed Adrian who slotted the ball to the back of the net.
With our tails up all the boys put in huge work, tackling hard all over the pitch and winning turnovers. Some lovely link play down the right between Tadhg and Daniel, with Flynn and Darragh also making good runs helped open space for Jack Hobbart to fist in the second goal.
Harvey and Eric were putting serious pressure on their kickouts which took the pressure off our defence.
When the ball did get to their forwards, great work from the likes of Ciaran and both Gearoid kept their scores to a minimum.
We got to half time 4-2 to 0-2 in front.
We continued our work rate throughout the second half, with some great passing to players in better positions which lead to some fine points from the likes of Patrick, Tadhg and Eric.
Beaufort to their credit kept plugging away and the full back got a fine solo goal.
Final scoreline 5-9 to 1-4.
Thanks to Beaufort for a competitive game.
We are away to Ballyduff next Sunday.

County League Phase 2 (14/5/23)
Ballymac Blue 3-10 Glenflesk 2-09
Ballymac u13 Blue Team, kicked off Phase 2 of Co League this evening (14th May 23) at home to Glenflesk.
We started well playing into the wind and an early goal from Harvey gave the team momentum in the first half.
Glenflesk were kept to very few chances thanks to great work rate by everyone when we didn’t have the ball. They got a deflected goal from a 45 to keep them in the game. It was great to see Adrian back from injury and he chipped in with a well taken goal and a few points to ensure we got to half time ahead on the scoreboard.
Our defence were tested throughout the second half as Glenflesk pushed for a goal but some excellent defending from our midfielders Harvey and Eric as well as both Gearoids, Finn and Ciaran kept them at bay.
When Tadhg O’Connor rattled the net, we increased our lead and held on to win 3-10 to 2-9.
Great displays all round.
Scorers on the night: Darragh Lyons 1pt, Patrick Leen 1pt, Harvey Leen 1 goal, Tadhg O’Connor 1-1, Adrian O’Connor 1-7.
